| Lofer is a skiing resort in the Alps with about 6.000
inhabitants. The cable tv network in Lofer reaches about 3.000
people. The owner of Tele Team also owns a hotel in Lofer where
we were broadcasting the info channel first. We tested PlanPoint
for a while in the hotel and we thought it is the ideal product
to make the info channel in the cable television network more
dynamic (first it was just a slide show and always the same)
so we used DataPoint for our cable television info channel LOFER
TV.
We were looking for a tool
to display presentations with
dynamic content, collected from various data sources,
easy-to-use and not too expensive.
Our first idea was using Microsoft PowerPoint as this tool is
comprehensive and it is easy to create nice looking presentation
with it. But without PresentationPoint's
products we had to stop the presentation, modify the text and
content on the slide and start the slide show again.
This behaviour could not be accepted at all as it takes too
much time and there are other risks involved.
By
using DataPoint we found an affordable way to set up a template
and linked it all dynamically to Microsoft Access databases.
Now we have new information entered in the database and DataPoint
will take care of displaying the latest information almost immediately.
We are also using the free
PlanPoint that allowed us to create a complete presentation
in advance and display specific slides at the date and time
indicate. A simple example of this is a 'Welcome note' in the
presentation displaying 'Good morning' in the early hours, 'Good
afternoon' after lunch, 'Good evening' etc.
Now our presentations are displaying:

By using PresentationPoint's products we
created a professional presentation service for our television
stations with all advantages of dynamic presentations.
We certainly recommend these
products to others. It offers great functionality for a fair
and simple price. Also we experienced direct and professional
support on these products and the few implementation issues
that we faced.
